Between those scenes the story is as disjointed as Talker’s herky-jerky personality jumping from location and time period without logic. And then it just ends. Moderate, by late standards, editorial errors and some profanity.

~sigh~ what a BEAUTIFUL ending to this heart clenching love story. While the other two novellas in the series held an intense conflict this one was all about the HEA. As with the previous one, we only get Talker's POV and we go back from the past - a while after Brian finished the physiotherapy, and the present in which they are living together in a cottage near the sea.
Everything in this short novella fell into place, both Brian and Talker truly found their calling. Brian as an artist who runs a gallery and Talker as a bartender but also volunteering with kids in the system which I felt was exactly what he SHOULD do.
I should note that though this is Talker's Graduation, it's not about college or school, it's about finding peace, Finding himself, accepting himself the way he is and building a home with Brian.
Beautiful. So so beautiful.

A good series.
I loved the Talker series. Ms Lane is a master of saying so much without spelling everything out and this series is a great example.
Brian and Talker are endearing and enduring characters. I'll reread this series again and again.
I hesitated for years in buying the second and third works of the talker series. While they're not bad they're not really necessary and are really short. Kind of like "hey, what are they up to?" snapshots. Still it is well written and moving so I have to give it 4.25-4.5 stars even though you could end with the first book and miss nothing.
This is the third story in the Talker saga, and each one gets better and better.
Talker is a hyper young man, physically scarred from a horrible accident when he was 5 that left him burned and disfigured, emotionally scarred from a brutal attack, but finally settled with the young man who sees past his scars to the brave man inside.
Brian is a country mouse, quiet, strong, in love with the boy he has loved since he sat beside him on the bus to their first track meet in college. Brian is also recovering from a horrible beating he took to avenge the attack on the love of his life.
Talker's Graduation is the story of how love redeems, strengthens and inspires. How Talker finally, finally knows bone deep Brian is his. How Brian finally, finally expresses that huge heart he has. And how happily ever after is not a cliche.
There were moments in this short (too short for me, but all of Amy's books are that way) coda that brought me to tears. The sculpture of Talker - read this story for that alone and you will be blessed.
I hope this is not the end for Talker and Brian - I love these characters, and would love to see them keep growing.

I don't usually write reviews, but this series touched my heart. They should not be missed. Anyone who wouldn't read them because of the m/m gay issues, should really reconsider. These book's in my opinion are really not about sex. The bigger picture are all the emotional issues. What Talker and Brian mean to each other and what they went through to survive.
If you don't need your Kleenex while reading these books, there is seriously something wrong with you. They are very well written and if you can't tell, I recommend them wholeheartedly! These are the first books I have read by Amy Lane and they will not be the last.
